The more that came out, the more it was obvious she was totally the wrong person to carry out an independent inquiry. She is deeply entrenched in the establishment. Her replacement needs to be someone outside of it.

The more that came out, the more it was obvious she was totally the wrong person to carry out an independent inquiry.

She is deeply entrenched in the establishment. Her replacement needs to be someone outside of it.
a fiasco,
Good, at last.
Just a couple of days ago, she was saying that nothing would dissuade her from taking on the task but now the Tories are saying that resigning was her decision and hers alone. A veritable Damascene conversion, surely.
Am I alone in suspecting there was rather more 'push' than 'fall' here? And high time, too!
