Right, you know the guards that you get with these hair clippers, approx how much would a number 7 guard take off the ends of my hair? or how long/ short would it leave my hair

Working on the basis that '1' takes the lot off, leaving about a quarter inch of hair, and the length corresponds to the asending order, I'd suggest that a '7' won;t take much off at all - assuming this is what you want.

thanks, I didn't expect it would take much off, I just need to be sure before I go home start buzzing......don't think they'd appreciate it at work if i turned up with a baldy..........

Can you get a number 7 guard?
Even with a number 4 you wouldn't have a skinhead.
If you are just trimming off the ends, you'd be better getting a hairdresser do it with scissors, or someone you trust.

Yes you can get a no 7 guard...they go up to 15 I think, used to use a no. 4, but now I just want to trim my unruly mop........cant afford the hairdressers at the mo, thats why i'm gonna do it........doesn't need to be tidy......I like the chopped up look.
if you put you head upside down and tie it a pony tail then cut into it you'll get a choppy look thats even
Question Author

My hair isn't long enough to put in a pony tail ( wish it were) its just got to that place where it a bit longer than it should be and I can't do owt with it.....no 7 I think, then out with the thinning scissors!!!!!!!!!

my number 8 leaves around an inch
Question Author
Right, if 8 leaves an inch, I think a 7 may be too short........to the hairdressers then I think...........oh I'm fed up
