Looks like it might chart... it's #1 on itunes and #13 on amazon downloads and this is the facebook page set up to propel it to #1 proper if you fancy supporting it. I quite like it actually as footie anthems go. Nice tribute to Rik Mayall if it got there at any rate.

Tinged with sadness
That's pretty good.

Still can't believe he's gone though.......
How long did it take them to write the lyrics?

"Come on you Ingerland, you noble Englishmen"

(Repeat endless time to fade)

Is nothing good enough for you Joe?
It's ok but hardly 3 Lions

Best I can do I'm afraid baldric
It's a football tournament anthem joe.

Were you expecting something akin to Gershwin perhaps,
or a Rogers and Hammerstein-esque classic?

If I looked up Whinging Pom in the dictionary I reckon there'd just be a picture of you.
Would that be the Aussie dictionary?
No, ANY dictionary!
I think it might be a picture of an apple in the French dictionary.

Oh cheer up Joe at least it bastardises Shakespeare which is more than 'Vindaloo' did.
oh come on England you can do better than that, its dire.
Much as I love Rik Mayall I think this is an awful and terrible way to commemorate his death.
The song is cr4p. His body of work is so much better than this.
I agree frog , the whole song/video is in bad taste imo............sorry.
Question Author
It might not be Rik Mayall's finest hour I do grant you ( that would be New Stateman) but it's a football anthem, and generally they're not known for their intellectual lyrics or indeed their tastefulness.
I thought it was fitting because Rik Mayall was great, I liked him, he released this in 2010 and it got absolutely nowhere mainly because it got little airtime. It's now world cup time and he died the other day plus our 'official' World Cup song is utterly atrocious, so I rather liked this in comparison instead. Anyway peace folks it's only a song :)
