do you want the fairly historically-based UK films of the 1950s (or 40s, come to that) or fictional US stuff with John Wayne or Quentin Tarantino?
An outstanding film based on the German's experience is Das Boat { The Boat} which is ovcourse subtitled. About a German submarine and it's crew.
Thats a great film, whirlyhurly.
The Enemy Below, submarine/destroyer heroics between Robert Mitchum and Curt Jurgens is very entertaining and also shows the emotions of war from both sides.

There was a film I was trying to remember and I just did now. It's The Rakes Progress starring Rex Harrison. It was made in 1945 so it might seem old fashioned but I'd like to see it again.
