I would have chosen Cornwall but the weather there seems to have changed to very wet over the past few years. Change in airflow patterns?
Now it would be North Yorks. Somewhere near Fountains Abbey. Even when it's busy, it can still be very peaceful.
In the gardens of Buckingham Palace - convenient for central London but peaceful and secure.
Maybe somewhere in Scotland but only in the middle of winter and only if it snows.
Yea Graham, you and me both. Fountains Abbey is wonderful, such a tranquil place. I used to live a 10 minute drive from there.
Somewhere remote where I can play meatloaf at full volume without the old bill saying "turn it down or I'll nick you" This was in the car and not the house I hasten to add. So for me the North Yorkshire moors.
My favourite area is Dale End House, Peak District due to its wonderful location. For getting more information about this place you can visit: http://www.redonline.co.uk/travel/inspiration/six-of-the-best-holiday-homes-for-a-winter-getaway
