/// "The people have spoken. Our people demand one type of politics: they want French politics by the French, for the French, with the French. They don't want to be led any more from outside, to submit to laws," a jubilant Le Pen told supporters. ///

/// "We must build another Europe, a Europe of free and sovereign nations and freely decided cooperation. Tonight is a massive rejection of the European Union. ///

/// "If Germany has become the economic heart of Europe, through the incompetence and weakness of our leaders, then France has been and will be the political heart of Europe. What is happening in France signals what will happen in all European countries; the return of the nation. ///

I'd like to know what's going on right now in the hastily convened emergency French government cabinet meeting!
IMO it is almost a French National past time and game to ignore most authoritarian dictats and rules.Fare dodging on the Metro is a sport even for those who can easily afford to pay the fare as an example.France has always got away with choosing to ignore any EU rulings that did'nt suit them.Remember how they refused to accept British beef after it was declared safe for human consumption (post mad cow disease) and were fined.Did they pay the huge fine for refusing it?The list goes on.European regulations as to the colour of Traffic police vehicles etc.Ignored by France.etc etc.
All of them.

A change of Government or even MEPs does not make any difference. They have signed Maastrict and Lisbon Treaties, and they only way out of that is though Parliament, or a referendum. They are in the same position as us. UKiP can offer a referendum, but is likely to have only a handful of MPs and will not be forming the next Government.
The french are more vocal and always up for a good protest though gromit. Maybe Front Nationale wont get the seats but they could possibly force a vote through civil unrest.
