have just been looking at free kindle books - why oh why do authors insist on stupid addendums to the titles?
eg
Ripped (a romantic novel) (book 1 ripped in san francisco series)

The only reason that most authors give away their books is because they want you to go on to pay for some of their other works.

Adding 'book 1 ripped in san francisco series' says "if you like this freebie, there are more in the series, so please consider buying them so that I can actually make some money from my writing".

However nobody will go on to buy further books if they don't even download the freebie to start with. Adding 'a romantic novel' says "Hey, this is the type of thing that you're looking for!" to lovers of such books.

yes i suppose so - it's just rather tiresome to read all the guff that comes with the title :)
