You say you should be able to speak your mind without fear that people will get offended right?

If you were stood at a bus stop, and in front of you were some old ladies...would you swear at the top of your voice into your mobile phone?

If you saw a man with a wooden leg, would you refer to him as hop-a-long?

If you saw a woman walking along the street with a child who suffered from cerebral palsy, would you refer to the child as a 'sp*zzer'?

Would you?

Same question to the rest of you who feel that your rights to offend people are being somehow eroded.

I am a Christian. I was baptised and used to be able to put my Christian name on forms until 1981. Now I have to put my first name or forename. I still object to that!

I was born in Great Britian. I am probably going to die in the same place but it will be a Third World country called Britistan.

I know what you mean about the PC Brigade. You know those poor fools that have limited intelligence & believe everything printed in the Express & Mail? Well, I read somewhere that apparently you're no longer allowed to call them 'th*ck' , they are officially to be known as 'hard-of-thinking'

Oh good grief!

What if I told you I am not a Christian so don't consider my first name is a Christian name (particularly since my real first name is 'Lucifer') and therefore would throw all my toys out of the pram at the merest suggestion of a 'Christian Name' on a form? You'd think I was a pillock and rightly so.

Everyone understands what 'first name' means; everyone has one. Not everyone has a Christian name.

Either you write 'Christian/ First/ Given/ Used/ Fore/ any other nomenclature which exists Name' or, you take a sensible attitude and use one term which encompasses everyone.

No one is stopping you from describing your first name as your Christian name.

I'm torn between finding this conversation highly amusing, and yet ridiculous to the point where I feel I'm being set up!?

I'll tell you what 'offends' me, seeing as we're all being so precious, what 'offends' me are the xenophobic bullsh*t comments from some of you scared little people. Quite frankly it doesn't matter what words you use, you need to have a look at your attitudes. If madein wants to uphold his right to say 'cripple' can I uphold my right to say 'f*cking moron'.
