i feel you are right about most things you have said, it is political madness, where the true englishman is not allowed to say or do things to protect the honour of our foriegn visitors!

i hope i dont sound racist, i am not saying a divide between black, white, chinese, asian etc.....

what i am saying is if people come to this country to live you should accept the rules, religions, languages and so forth!!

i agree with you.i am not a racist as some mite think,my daughter is mixed race.i should be able to sing baa baa black sheep if i want!i dont get offended when people call a blackboard a whiteboard(as its now called).this world has gone mad!

If you read previous questions and answers on this site, you will find that the majority of these stories are false and are down to media hype that gullible people fall for.

Just a comment really - with my job I did a stint at a certain English Police HQ. There they had chalk boards (not blackboards) and pen boards (not white boards).

What really took the biscuit for me was that trainees doing what I called drill did not march, (too military) -they performed rhythmic walking !!!

this subject drives me maaaaaaaaadddddddd

YOU can sing baa baa black sheep, YOU can also call a blackboard a blackboard and a whiteboard a whiteboard also feel free to wish people a merry christmas - none of these things are illegal, banned or otherwise frowned upon... for the last time there is no PC battle being fought simply a very small minority of people sometimes having a barmy decision OR (and this is mostly the case) the media get the wiff of a PC story and blow it up out of all proportion... honestly the world is fine, the british are still british and everyone can still decorate their xmas tree if they want.

yes the media love a good story and to make trouble!!
Political correctness was invented by us lefties to expose gullible fools who will lap up any reactionary rubbish churned out by the right wing press.
All us loony lefties are sitting on the sidelines laughing at the moomins who believe it and get all hot under the collar and rant amongst themselves.
Just remember - we are teaching your kids, controlling your social services, running your councils and making policy and there is nothing you can do about it!
Ha ha ha ha ha ha!
rugeley boy - you will find that mostly when they are banning Christmas Decs, it is not far any reason other than a cost cutting excersie. The council don't want to fork out for stuff. A while back it was nothing to do with other religions, it was down to health and safety.

A council / government will do ANYTHING to save money - including lying about their reasoning. If they said ' despite your council tax increasing by x%, we don't have enough money to pay for Xmas decs' people would be annoyed with the council. If they say, 'we don't want to put up decs as it may cause offense' people are not annoyed with the council, but get annoyed with 'those ruddy foreigners'
If an item is a blackboard then I say blackboard, ie it a board that is painted black. I have never yet managed to offend one of my black friends with this as they are too sensible to have time for such overt c**p. Use your common sense, there is no war on common sense and it's all whipped up by the Daily Mail to rile the proleteriate.
The same as I was taught, I teach my son Baa Baa Black Sheep. Do you know how many letters of complaint they had? Three bags full! Keep the tradition going thats what I say.

hear hear goodsmeister!
My goodness gary & one - gullible and cost cutting !! For goodness sake, I am a well educated man and am far from gullible (and I DON'T take the Daily Mail) - and I was physically present in Leicester when the coucil made the decision that they would have 'festive lights' and not 'Christmas lights', saving NO money at all - but they were still allowed to have 'Diwalli' lights !!
.......and?
And what?
Well - it is nearly midnight, so probably past your bedtimes - I'll look for your responses in the morning.
What on earth are you talking about? I can sing "Baa baa black sheep", I can say "Happy Christmas", I can say "blackboard", and nobody has ever told me that I'm not allowed to.
