Is there anyone out there who is an expert on Bow Porcelain? Specifically the early pieces where they copied oriental designs on dishes, plates etc.

I have a dish that I think may be the above and would welcome the chance to e-mail photos of it to someone who would be willing to have a look and give an opinion.

Hi sandrak, I saw this earlier, but left it in case someone else could come up with more than me.

Essentialy, Early Bow should generally have these these three characteristics, it should be heavy potting, a greenish type glassy glaze, and heavy potting, a good site to look at is www.gotheborg.com but if you try other antique sites, and put Early Bow Porcelain in their search engine, you should get some results.

If it really is early Bow it is worth a bit so take it into any viewingday of the auction houses

they sort of travel around looking for people like you....
