thanks, but i'm not at that stage yet, what i'm trying to do is manage the pain that i'm in right now.

i have found a solution of sorts.... do a work out with a personal trainer - make sure it includes squats - im in so much pain in my legs right now that i can't distinguish pain from felix the fibroid

hi. I do wonder if you should actually be at work, is it possible to get an appointment with gp to be prescribed decent analgesia. you said a hot water bottle helps ease the pain, would a heat pad help when you are at work. ?
The pain must be because it`s pressing on a nerve or something. Fibroids usually give you heavy periods so it`s strange that you don`t have them. I didn`t get pain really. In the beginning, I had a vague sensation that there was something there because I could feel it pressing in a nerve and I used to get a fleeting sensation of something pressing on the bladder. I went to a doctor who implied there was nothing wrong with me and didn`t even do an examination. Years later, I started getting heavy periods and could feel that there was something big there. I had one fibroid of 13cm. As there was just the one, I had it embolised which was quite a new procedure in this country. It shrunk it to 9cm but it never went any smaller. They can be quite good at finding a new blood supply and continuing to thrive. The procedure worked straight away though - no more heavy periods. The fibroid is still there but I don`t get any problems. I guess the pain relief is a matter of trying different things. I like naproxen for pain but it depends what works for you.

i def get the feeling that something is pressing on my bladder - all the time!

its not been officially diagnosed yet so i guess it could be something else...
Question Author
easier said than done, i need to pay my bills. If i do have to have an op then i'll need time off for that - that's when i'll go on official sick leave.

I'm coping, i'll just take it day by day and if its too painful, then i'll work from home
any better today ?
Question Author
actually yes, i'm getting occasional twinges, but nothing like it was at the beginning of the week. i think the exercise is working :-) scan on monday and have next consultant app confirmed for the 20th, so hopefully a def diagnosis and a decison will be made then
did you change your pain killers ?
Question Author
no, I'm taking ibo & co-codamol but that's because the pain in my thighs is unreal. nothing i can do about the amount of times i need to pee though!
roll on Monday .
any news after the MRI ?
