Hi all,

I need to create some word art for my mother to use on her web page (she is a teacher). I know how to do this in microsoft word, but I need the word art to be an image (gif, jpeg, etc.) so she can insert it in her page. Is this possible?

I am terrible with computers, so please use simple instructions in your answers!

Thanks!!

....... That's a bit awkward if you are "terrible with computers......aka estie...

You could make the word art in MS word if you like...then press the PrintScreen key to copy the monitor display to the clipboard as a bmp. Then open your photo editing software or the Paint program that came with windows and Paste into there........crop out the part you want and save it as a jpg or whatever you wish..............a bit tricky if you are totally PC illiterate as you say but all I can suggest....commoner

Thanks, commoner.

I guess I undersold myself a bit there! I am by no means computer illiterate - just don't know as much as many on here. I will definitely try what you have suggested - thanks!!

If by word art you mean fancy lettering, you can knock this up with any decent dtp program. Paint Shop Pro is among the best, but I've always found Serif PagePlus to be adequate. You can get a free copy of an earlier incarnation of it from Serif. Or of course, just use the word art you produce in Word.

Once you've made your lettering, save it as a .jpg file and you shouldn't have much difficulty inserting it into a web page (treat it like any other image).

If you're writing the HTML, it's something like: <img src="yourimagenamehere.jpg">, but I realise you're not too hot with computers (me too actually). Anyway, that html line just tells the page to insert that particular image. Not too sure if any of this is helpful, since you say you're 'terrible with computers', but since you're trying to help out with your mother's web page, maybe you're not really so dumb :)
