I have quite bad sleep apnoea but I never wake gasping for breath though. Do you sleep with a partner, if so, has your partner ever told you that you stop breathing in your sleep?

Either way I think a visit to your GP is in order.
The only symptom that I am aware of myself is I often wake myself with a great big loud snort type snore as a single gasp for breath, then I am ok.

Stop Googling before you get to Hypochondria, or you'll get that as well!

I live alone but when I have shared a room with someone they find it impossible to sleep with my snoring !!
My partner told me that I stop breathing in my sleep, it has never woken me up though.
Don't get asthma problems, do you ?
Are you nodding off during the day? That would be a sure sign of sleep apnoea. Even if you aren't it's worth seeing your doctor as it will be putting a strain on your heart. Are you, erm, carrying a little excess weight? I ask, as losing that will help you stop snoring.
