I've not seen anything that said we were supposed to switch our lights off for an hour at 8.30pm. How have I missed that then? Did you know?

I did read about it somewhere

First I've heard of it, don't think I'll bother now, it's a bit late!
News to me too Prudie.
perhaps it wasn't your town?
I saw the one about switching off the lights at 11.00pm on the 4th August to commemorate the start of WWI - the foreign secretary at the time, Edward Grey said at the outbreak of the war that "lights are going out all over the world, and he doubted whether we'd see them on again in our lifetime" or words to that effect. Didn't know about the Earth hour
Saw about earth hour on facebook. Couldn't join, putting children to bed.
First I've heard of it.

Oh well, too late now
I think I went to the loo around 8.30pm so the light would've been switched off when I finished.

Done my bit for Earth Hour :o)
Nothing mentioned in our town or even on the news. I'm glad because I hate the dark!
I read about it earlier in the DM online. Forgot all about it to be honest. Kind of hard topping up your wine glass with the lights out, that's my excuse anyway and I'm sticking to it. :)
So they have saved a bit of power, but the crime rates have gone up!!!!!
Ours are switched of at midnight every night, til 5am so feel we do our bit on a regular basis.
Ours too cupotee, well pleased as from tonight with the hour change they will now stay on until 1am instead of midnight. Its not a popular decision in our town, our council switching them off.
Yes I knew about it and left it to all the big countries, too dark on my little mountain anyway.
I only noticed it by chance on Sky News but I don't tend to have lights on unless I need them and often sit in the dark if I've just got my laptop or the TV on.
Nope, I didn't hear anything about it either. I seem to remember it in 2013, though.
