Has anyone used those space bags when packing a case. I was thinking of trying them for a cabin bag to see if I can get a little extra in.
Do they work? Are your clothes creased to bits when unpacked? In short, are they any good or not worth the effort?

They work by squishing the air out, so great for towels, pillows and so on, not much help when its shirts, trousers etc.

No good for travelling then. Ah well.
you'll get more in, but you'll still be restricted by weight (if flying) won't you?
Question Author
Hm, I'm not a frequent flyer and I only take a cabin bag (case) with me. I have never noticed when they weigh my bag. That said it is only shirts and trousers, and not many of them that I take.
I only mention it cos somebody told me, in passing they do it.
Doesn't seem worth the bother.
You would also need something to get the air out of them for getting them back home too or you could end up not being able to close your case.
shed man, the ones for use on journeys expel the air by rolling them up. no vaccuum needed.

Yes woofgang there the ones.
Didn't know that woofgang. I learn something new every day. Might work then if you only want to take a small bag.
If you can squeeze them really small you might have room for the iron.
Question Author
Ha ha, good idea Hopkirk.
Then again if I didn't squeeze them up.....!!
Most hotels will have an iron in the room anyway....?
Question Author
Really? I haven't seen any before. Trouser press, maybe a hairdrier (not much good to me) but I cant remember an iron. I'll check next time I'm away.
A few have them in the room, but most can bring one up if you ask.
