My mother was convinced I was a boy and was going to call me John. She had no girls names in mind and my two forenames were taken from twin girls belonging to the woman in the next bed! (I should be thankful mum wasn't in a room on her own or I could have been called "the water in this tap is very hot" or worse)

Patrick - my mother was half-Irish and had an Irish midwife (although I am grateful she didn't take the midwife's advice and call me Bridget....)

My middle name is Carol, because I was born at Christmas.... groan :-)

I asked my elder sisters and they tell me I would have been Caitlin.
anne.

anne, let me see if I have got this right - if you had been a boy you would still have been called Anne?????
yes, they liked the name LOL
Probably Michael, it was very popular at the time. When my mum was expecting I was convinced I was having a new little brother called Michael...but instead I got a sister and a clapping monkey. I remind her of it....often.
I would have been Simon or George, apparently :-\
I believe I would have been called Mark.

I wish I had been born a boy as I hate my name.
I would have been Sean or Stephen. When my younger brother was born my mother chose Sean. There always has to be a Stephen in my Dad's family so Dad went off and registered the baby as Stephen, telling Mum when he got home.....they did speak again eventually but there were no more children....☺
Martin. They hadn't chosen a girls name so the nurse gave them a list and they just picked two off it neither of which I like.
Kenneth or Daniel.
