Thats snot true.
I alwys thought it was true. Not like the hard green bogies but the only time you get thick green runny snot is when you are ill.
if its liquid green he could have sinusitis

when i take my kids to the doctors he always asks what colour it is (white or green) if i say green they get medicine if its white they dont

I have a chest infection, and you HAVE to take notice of the colour of your sputum, no matter how gross that is! If it is clear you are okay. If it is yellow, green or even brown, then that is an indication of pus, and therefore infection. That's when you need antibiotics.

Probably is.

I was told by someone who'd been told by their doctor that normal, 'clean' nose mucus would be colourless, but the various colours you can get (yellow, green, blue) are caused by bacteria (or virii?) living in it. Note this refers to 'nose product' rather than something hawked up after a good cough.

Apparently black is just dirt!
