could it be the weather in your area?
These are signs of a weak signal. How do you get your tv signal?
i.e. Sky. Virgin or Digibox etc.

I have freeview thru tv and dvd, aerial on roof.

Weather has been worse although windy today, and tv was fine, perhaps aerial loose on roof....
We had a similar problem with our upstairs TV. Downstairs TV fine; upstairs TV losing signal, etc. Both connected to same aerial, so aerial obviously ok.
We had a guy come out and check the signal with a meter. The signal was poor, so the guy put up another aerial in the loft (cheaper and easier than replacing the coax from the aerial on the roof).
You've poss got a similar problem, bad signal caused by damaged coax or connection .... poss caused by water ingress.
No problems for us now :)
Sorry for the delay in replying.
Firstly take a look at your aerial and see if it's still pointing in the right direction. Compare with neighbours aerials.
A new aerial will cost from around £60 installed.
If the aerial looks to be ok you could try a signal booster. e.g.

If this is a recent problem then I would guess that the bad weather has affected your signal and I'd wait a while to see if the problem resolves itself.
