My xmas budget this year is pretty much nothing. I need some ideas of things to make or buy very cheap, that would make great gifts. All ages from babies to adults. I am not particularly gifted at craft making so simple ideas please

For a baby you could always knit a jumper or cardigan, doesn't have to be anything to complicated. Fudge or toffee are other things you could make and put them in a nice box.

Every year I make chocolates...peppermint creams, rose creams and orange. They make lovely gifts.

rum and raisin dollops

Soak a pack of raisins in rum for a week (cheap own brand basics rum is all you need)

Melt two very large bars of chocolate I do it in a pan over a another one filled with boiling water

add two tablespoons of butter and mix well

Drain the raisins and stir the fruit into the chocolate
spoon into petits fours cases the foil ones look best
when cool put into acetate bags and pop into a Christmassy gift bag

Drink the raisin flavoured rum that was left over... if they don't like their presents tough you will be too drunk to give a ....

Always in demand... chopped prunes in brandy works well as do dried cherries in kirsch glace cherries soaked in brandy look good chopped into melted white chocolate walnuts in whisky work too as does candied peel in Cointreau or grand marnier

Emergency kits are fun, use an old sauce jar, ie Hangover kit, pop in some coffee sachet, gaviscon, paracetemol, bath bomb or any other bits recycled from part used gifts knocking about the house.
Pamper kit, book, bath bomb candle.
garden lights - jam jars with tea lights or electric tea lights, paint or use sticky craft stencils.
I am doing pint glasses for the blokes, half's for the boys, highball for the girls and wine for the lady's, all cheap 3 for £1 plus craft stencils done 10 for less than tenner.
Recycle Jars are good for homemade sweets and biscuits etc.

Think of buying something that will cover ALL your gift requirements - and make a supply-box for celebrations to come!

ie: Instead of buying soap, make it! (You can start with cheap soap-bars and add lovely herbs/flowers/spices when melted and cooled in your own mould) The scents can be altered to suit the recipient.
Or:
Last year I gave Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh (what could be more original?)
I bought the incense and job-lots of Indian "Gold" burners online. My "giftees" were amazed that no-one had thought of it before. Time-consuming but cheap, the real gift of love.
Or:
The year before, I collected lavender in France and made lavender bags. You can buy dried lavender by the gramme - stitch or stick into a pretty bag (even nicer with the recipient's name embroidered). Can also be used by men (good grief!!) for sock drawers - in a suitably masculine presentation.
Or:
Year before that: "Sloe Gin" - raid the hedgerows (but stay away from my house!) Bottle of cheap gin (Aldi?), granulated sugar, - SMALL pretty bottles:
you will make a most welcome gift! Add pretty new labels (Chateau Loulou ?)
Fab! Leave the sloes in the bottles - it's late in the season now, the liqueur continues to develop and you need less gin in the bottle!
