Beware Britain and batten down - the storm has started down here and, quite simply, at 4.40pm, it is already FOUL.......the wind is strong, gusting strongly already and the rain is heavy at times. Seriously awful and we have a night of this and tomorrow to come - with two high tides.

The electricity is beginning to flicker as well, now three times.....

Good luck all, particularly any Somerset, East Devon, Kent and Surrey folk, not forgetting our Northern Ireland folk like Psybbs.....

What's it like with you folk?

Could be Bye to all!

The bad news, lilacben, is that more is expected, a storm, tomorrow evening and through Saturday, another storm then coming in Wednesday..... It is getting very serious and can't be short of being declared a national emergency - why the military haven't been called in to help support, who knows..........
All we have here is rain, and rain, and wind - nothing like you have over in the west. The river at the bottom of our road is higher than I've ever seen it.
Well a lovely new day...It is a beautiful sunny day here in Wellington. They say Calm before the Storm.! Just thinking of all the wild life that must have been caught up in this flooding as well as people. Not looking forward to tonight onwards if the storm comes as bad as the say. Take care everyone and stay safe. x
