i got a new mobile on contract on the 10/02/06 now since then the phone has developed 2 faults,1,being that people cannot hear me when am speaking.2, that the phone just keeps switching its self off every time i put it down or have it in my pocket,Now i read on the cwp website that if the phone developes a fault within 28 days they will replace it.I have had my phone for 31 days as of today,Do you think it will be at the store managers say so wether they replace it or not.Or do you think am gonna have to let them send it away and have a faulty phone for the reminder of my 12 month contract....????

Is it 28 days for a fault? it must be different to most other retail outlets then, if it is a faulty item it is faulty, we do a 28 day refund policy if not completely satisfird but I know some places are funny abouit phones, Argos are for one. if it developed the fault as soon as yougot it that is covered, it depends on how they enforce or interpret the wording in their own contract, it could develop a fault the day after you get it, but if you are on hols or away you can't get it back to them, try the manager, tell him it has the fault from new.

The wording does say you need proof of the exact time and date the fault developed, and as it is a weekend now, you could ring them tomorrow and tell them you have had an intermittent issue with it since purchase but it is getting worse and you want an exchange not a repair.
sorry, jetlag, i mean it doesn't say you need proof of time and date of fault developing so get em told!

if you reported the fault within 28days you should be ok, thats how it works with the certain mobile company i work for, if they wont execpt this then they will send it back to the manufacturer to fix it they should offer u a loan phone to use in the interim providing they have one in stock, if it comes back fixed excellant, if there is still a fault then the manufacter has a 3 strike rule that if it goes back to them 3 times and is still broken then they have to replace it like for like or the equivalent model.

good luck

yes but as of today i have had 31 days,do you think they will be funny and not replace and send it away..? Or do you think they will give me the benifit of the doubt with it only being a couple of days out of they 28...??
they will be scrit with it in my experience, because at the end of the day if they replace it for u it cost cpw were as if they tell u to claim on the warranty it doesnt cost cpw any extra
Question Author
well i can only try cant i,I will not accept a broken phone as part of a contract.Your right it does cost cpw is they replace it however as i am connected to vodafone through them and am sure cpw dont me going back to vodafone and complaining about the service i have received.I am pretty good at getting my own way thats for sure having worked for vodafone in the passed lets just say i know what buttons to press to get what i want.
