defeat from the jaws of victory seekz, though your guys played a terrific last six overs
was there an appeal for Bopara's dismissal? Personally I would have dismissed him 10 overs earlier and given everyone else a chance to score runs instead of blocking.

no there wasn't jno, the verdict seems to be harsh but fair
oh dear ... time for me to sneak off to my bed before the mud slinging starts xx
Law 27 (Appeals)
1. Umpire not to give batsman out without an appeal
Another shocking defeat..They should be made to sail home..via the horn.. and then sent back there to learn how to play again.
Open topped parade?..Yes..to throw rotten vegetables at them.
Shocking...even Scotland would beat us.

sorry jno, I read your first post //as was there an appeal against Bopara's dismissal//

WBA, done up like a kipper and I'd like to think the ECB's grossly inflated management structure are starting a period of rigorous critical appraisal of this fiasco. I doubt it.
I don't think the review system works in ODIs, at least not these ones, so no request for review by players can be granted. But the onfield umpires can still hand decisions over to the TV umpire of their own accord. I suppose this must have happened but I didn't see the umpire drawing squares in the air. And I didn't hear the Aussies appeal in the first place.
