I`ve got a new garden shed and I noticed a hole where the knot in the wood had fallen out. On closer inspection, I see there are a couple of other holes as well (one of them is mouse sized). What can I fill them with? I can`t imagine trying to get silicone to sit in a hole that size would work. I know I can Google it but I wanted to ask here.

Decorators caulk wont work if you use it outside without painting/varnishing it. It'll go soft & wash away in the rain.

Thanks for the replies. That`s something to do tomorrow when I have moved all the contents back in.
carrust; i would've thought that the best way to tackle the small gaps where the sides meet is from the inside. Otherwise how would you see "where the daylight comes in."? Though i agree it should be painted over once it has 'set'.
The corks from wine bottles are easily cut to size to bung up the holes.
I have a plentiful supply. Hic
Get some cheap silicon from poundland for the gaps.
