While at the pub today we got around to discussing what was on the menu for this evening.

One friend was heading home to liver and onions and was really rather looking forward to it.

I mentioned that belly pork was the offering of the day and I suddenly had two extra wannabes at the table.

So given a choice which would you go for?

Afraid belly pork every time...I don't eat liver...yuk.

Forgot to say I have pork strips mostly, either coated in sage and onion stuffing or mustard...tastes good to me.

pork belly for me, liver for OH. I like liver, but it is often cooked a little too dry for my taste.

Had belly pork on Wednesday, slow cooked in rhubarb, demerara sugar and salt with a gop of chicken stock....
Just had liver n onions, with a waft of home-mixed curry spices to ring the changes.
So I would say both have their merits, and I couldn't choose between them.

Mosaic, tell me more about your pork and rhubarb!!?!? I can see how they would work well together and have eaten them together in Belgium. Do you add any spices/ other flavourings?

Pork belly for me please. I love cooking and preparing liver but I don't like the taste of it at all.
