Noticed this on the competition being televised at the moment. I was wondering why it is considering it really is just a game of skill with physical strength not being an advantage.

Women just can't drink that much ...

Because the "macho" men who play competitive darts are afraid of being shown up by being beaten by a woman.

P.S. I used to play for a village woman's team when they couldn't make a full team. No problem.
Not only are there two different competitions, the winner of the men's championship gets £100,000 and the women's champion only gets £12,000. How is that fair?

As you say, its only skill and not physical strength so I don't think there should be such a difference.
the same could be said for snooker ... it would certainly create added interest
Same applies to snooker. Why?
because it's a game of skill requiring little strength?
Our area's big darts comp, open to all, was won by a lady!
Are there many women , who are good enough to compete with the men at the top , in terms of scoring ?

I watched some of the women's mathes and the scoring does seem to be 'low' in the games - i.e. it takes longer to check out .

If i'm needed urgently , you might find me in the cupboard , under the stairs .
This lady

has competed against the men in 2008 and 2009 (At the PDC World Championships)
The hoche is nearer the board for women, too.
I think the ladies just like to give men a chance to win, on occasion.
