Last couple:
11a Bowler breaking back having reduced total (7) --A-T-R?
I'm thinking 'Shatter', and
5d Trimmed material, lateral strip (5) A---E (or A-S-E if 'Shatter' is correct).
Aisle? But if so, why?
Thanks

11a) yes SHATTER = total, as in what you might do to a car

bowler breaking back having reduced = put HAT inside STER(n)
5d) yes - AISLE = "lateral division in a church flanking the nave or chancel"

trimmed material = (p)aisle(y)

Thanks Bibblebub. I thought that was the reasoning behind shatter but couldn't get the 'material' connection with 'Aisle'
SHATTER is correct. S(HAT)TER(- N) = TOTAL (write off)
