HI, I'm wanting to find out what kind of Ram my pc has.

I've right-clicked on the 'My Computer' Tab and found that I have 704 Meg of Ram. I run alot of programmes that slow my system down, like video and audio editing.

Now, i'm wanting to upgrade my Ram to either 1gig or 2 gig of Ram. Which can I upgrade to and how do I found out if I need SDR or DDR?

I have win xp, please can anybody help how I find out.

Thank you.

Thank you very much indeed.

Just what I needed. :o)

Further to obonio, I was in exactly this situation a couple of years ago.

I knew nothing about RAM or computers, and had never opened my pc, but ran that test.

The bit I needed was recommended, I bought it and the instructions were plain and simple to follow.

No problems whatsoever.
I could be wrong, but the strange size of your RAM (704 Mb) leads me to suspect that you are sharing System RAM with Video RAM. If this is the case, and you do a lot of work with Video and images, you might be better off looking to upgrade your video adaptor.
...open the case and look inside or read the manual if you haven't done any previous mods ...or just Google for help ...you will find plenty of sites willing to advise such as this one...

There are 2 downloads which might help: Google for the URLs. One is cpu-z and the bigger one is Belarc advsor
You would be well advised to follow the advice given by Rojash. As he says you appear to have integrated graphics which are not suited to the type of work you are performing, a separate graphics card would be a more useful addition before you start adding RAM.
