yes I know there is a section for this but I trust my C/B friends more.
I went on hols and I was the only one on the sunbeds without a tablet & I felt left out so I would like to buy one and need some advice pls.
I am 75 yrs young so only want it for basic things i.e. emails, A/B, google though in time I will learn about apps etc so I do not need a very high tec one .Argos, Currys etc are offering @ £249 but John Lewis are offering same price with a free 3 year guarantee is this a good buy for me ? if not why and what would you recommend, I am scared if I but an el cheapo one from Tesco that six months down the line I will regret it.
Help appreciated.

Dee Sa - I have iPod touch and am on it now. Have Internet when in wifi area plus emails, stocks and shares, maps, FaceTime, Viber, camera, video, clock, calendar, calculator, voice recorder, weather etc etc. Love it.
I've just got the kids mini ipads for Christmas, they are great, nice neat size and do everything the big sister does. Tesco had them for £220 just before Christmas.

Agree with Grasscarp about the Touch but the screen can be a bit small for browsing some sites (for my anyway).

Go into John Lewis or a decent technology shop and have a play with all the tablets, and you'll find one that suits you.

thanks both, will go there before 26th as offer ends then, but I probably mean tomorrow ! must get one !
I can't be bothered with a tablet, as I like the full screen experience of a laptop.

Why do you need a tablet on a sunbed? A fashion accessory I suspect.

hopkirk gets awful boring on a sunbed, unfortunately I cannot walk along the beach have awful bad feet so I am stuck there and there are only so many paperbacks you can read, have bought with, I read all three books twice, plus 11 hours plus on a plane gets dead boring too.
That Hudl from Tesco has good reviews and is more than capable of doing what you want.
i think the apple operating system is very complicated (more so than android) You'll also have to remember that you will only be able to get internet access if you are in a hotspot or if say the hotel offers it.
Also, ipads are expensive and i agree that if you are doing only simple stuff on it, a cheaper one will suffice
also, i would imagine you wont be able to use it on a plane, but don't know for sure
Dee - mine is a tablet - a refurbished model (but fine) I got it for Christmas from Amazon. Does everything you want and more ....... and its a larger size with an optional keyboard but you can get the smaller screen size.

It was £79 mid Dec but gone up since. Gemini Duo Pro 9.7-inch Tablet with Bluetooth Keyboard Case (ARM Cortex A9 1.5GHz Processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB Storage, WiFi, 2x camera, Android 4.1)
