hi, I've been under a fair amount of stress lately and very busy. I usually suffer from quite severe migraines anyway, but the last three weeks I've hardly been able to function at all, as soon as one starts to go another begins. It's getting really debilitating and the Dr is a complete waste of time. Has anyone had a similar increase in the number and intensity of their migraines and if so how long did it last and did you find enything helpful? Any suggestions (however way out) gratefully recieved. Thanks in advance.

If i ever have a migraine i usually can directly relate it to something I ate for some reason. If I have a certain type of dark chocolate it can start, or a particular type of cheese cooked. It is also triggered by looking out of a window into a bright sky. The only way i can stop the zigzag lines developing into the migraine headache is to take two paracetamol, close my eyes for as long as i feel the sickly feeling and that usually works. If i try to carry on with my day and put up with the zigzag lights I know it will just escalate.

Hi Noxlumos, I hope the attached helps a little.

I tried using Feverfew capsules some years ago, they seemed to work but really upset my stomach. When I had to go, I really had to go, so I stopped taking them.

In recent years, following scans and different drugs, I have found that Imigran works for me. When I get my aura, I take the tablets, and I know that within two hours, the pain will go. The other symptoms are still there, but I can handle them as long as the pain is gone.

Hi i just wondered whether they could be cluster headaches my other half gets them now and then and he can be just like this for a week or more.

Hope you feel better soon and hope your little one is ok

Thank you all. Lots to look at and digest/try there and little one is fine thanks, lovely in fact:) Still haven't settled on a name yet though:(
You can get something called 'cluster headaches' - see your doctor and look at aspects of diet and lifestyle to see if there are any triggers or factors which make them worse.
