good energy boosters?

does anyone know of any good energy boosters?


i don't just mean a multivitamin, or caffiene pills, which i already have, i mean something that will stop me feeling worn out and drained all the time, but won't make my heart pound.


some thing just to help me get up and go.


i just need some energy to get stuff done, i find i struggle to do anything, even just bits around the house.


i am not anaemic, but i do have some health problems which unfortunately i can't do much about, but with some energy help they wouldn't be so annoying.

As long as you dont have any thyroid problems, sea kelp supplements help boost your thyroid function which will make you feel good. I have been taking them for 2 weeks and already feeling good for it. Available at Holland and Barratt or health shops. Quite cheap on ebay too.

You will find that a lot of food with a low GI will help you through the day.


I have a bowl of porridge at 6am with semi skimmed milk and splenda sugar. This sees me through to morning break at 9.30 when i have a bowl of bran flakes with milk and splenda plus some grapes and a yoghurt.


At 12.30, i have another yoghurt, a satsuma, a banana and a healthy "diet" bar.


Sometime's i'll have a piece of chicken breast at work grilled on one of those lean mean grillin machines. The chicken is covered in herbs and i eat it with low fat mayo

Cannot agree more about porridge to start the day.

I use some temple balms to give me an extra boost

I suffer the same problem as you joko - always wish I had more energy, but am sure part of my problem is SAD syndrome (i.e. no sunlight and warmth) because my energy levels always seem to rise once Spring arrives an the gardening beckons.


I do find that a low GI diet helps me, i.e. porridge for breakfast. (Add dried fruit, sultanas, chopped apples, frozen berries if you can't face it on its own) and cutting own on bread, especially French bread which makes me feel puffed up and sleepy after eating it.


I'm a little suspicious of filling my body with supplements as a good diet should provide these naturally. Try just changing your diet for two or three weeks to a low GI one with lots of extra fruit.veetables and see if you can feel any difference.


Regular gentle exercise can be helpful too. If walking is a problem for physical reason, swimming can be quite energising.
