Scottish Independence Prediction

Today, the Scottish government issued a white paper, "Scotland's Future", possibly one of the most important documents in the history of the United Kingdom. My prediction is that not one single person in the UK, outwith Scotland, will read the paper, yet will still feel qualified to pronounce on Scottish affairs. This being AnswerBank, my question is "Am I right, or a meringue?"

I've had a copy and found the perfect use for it...... it's the perfect thickness to stabilise a shoogly table in the house.....
Interesting, slapshot. So, if independence succeeds, you will be moving to England...?
Question Author
Your table must have had a helluva shoogle.
Jeffa.... I might have no option, I work for a UK government agency.. apart from that, I don't trust wee Eck.. period!!
Period? Which part of America are you from...?
I don't know of any Scots willing to plough through it.!! As for Salmond... grrrr!!! He hates Scotland and the Scottish people and that's why he wants to take us back hundreds of years and leave us there, in the past. Shame on him. He and the rest of his bigited cohorts are so hell bent on Independence, they can't think sensibly. This is not your future, not his future, not my future.. this is THE future. It's for ALL eternity and when get into a mess(and we will!!), who the blazes will help us out next time? Shame on Salmond and anyone who thinks like him and sees the world through bigoted blinkered eyes. Vote a big fat NOOOOOOO please. Thank you to all my fellow Scots. Vote NO!!

janbee - All I can say is that you really should read the white paper.
Wharton, you're completely wasting your time. Those voting yes know precisely why they are doing so. Those voting no haven't a clue, other than FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt).
Question Author
You're probably right jeffa, but I think you're being a wee bit unfair on the 'fuds', I must admit I had to laugh at that :-). However I still maintain that until anyone has read the white paper they are not qualified to pass opinion on Scottish matters.
Wharton, you are right of course, but completely unrealistic. Aristotle may have said that man is a political animal but, in truth, the vast majority of the population haven't the slightest notion about anything at all. That's how it is in Scotland right now, and that's why the independence vote has no realistic chance of succeeding. If only the people knew...

A vote in Scotland, organised by the Scots, for the Scots, with no reference or deference to any non-Scottish agency. Could it get rigged? Call me Diogenes if you wish jeffa.
