Is there a website which shows a side-on view of the tube network to enable one to see depths etc... (does this make sense?).

I doubt it because it would be really complicated as they go up and down in depth all over the place. Given this would be of little practical benefit I doubt that anybody would have taken the time to do this.

as a basic point it is interesting to note that apart from a couple of anomolies (liverpool st being one i think) that the map actually indicates which line is closer to the surface by letting it overlap any lines that cross
