Hi, I'm off to Puerto de la Cruz in Tenerife tomorrow, Could anyone please recommend any coach trip company's which do days out to the Tiede national park or local markets from Puerto de la Cruz? (anything which doesn't include 'wine tasting' would be good) Thank you in advance. Pea.

Best thing to do is to go to one of the travel booths when you're there and have a look and see what's on offer.
One thing I wouldn't do is to book one of the trips through a travel agent, as you'll usually pay a lot more.

It all depends on what you're after - just sight seeing, or something to do whilst you're there?
Have you considered the Monkey Park, or Loro Park ...... maybe the Siam Park (full of water slides).
I'm off to Tenerife this Sat - (our 5th Xmas away in the sun, staying in Costa Adeje) .... and maybe this time we might just go up Mount Tiede. We keep meaning to, but we never actually get round to it.
Feel very jealous, just got back from costa adeje and had the worst possible week as far as weather was concerned. Terrible 2 day storm, rain and wind and saw no sun at all. Was warm though. I should imagine that's all over now and the sun has once again returned. Mount Teida is amazing but we couldn't do the cable car as it was closed coz of bad weather.Great place. I will return and maybe do another island.
Also, Massa valley and Los Gigantes area good to see, and of course some whale-watching.
We are off to Los Gigantes on Friday for our fourth time. The Tenerife bus service is excellent

We always use that. Buy a Bono ticket and you will save money too. No need to bus it to Loro Parque you can easily walk it and is well worth a visit.
Before booking a trip check the bus service first, they are cheaper and usually much quicker than trips that pick up here there and everywhere before you even set off to your destination.

Hi All, Thank you all so much! (sorry, been at work otherwise I would have responded earlier). Some great ideas, we do try and use local bus services whenever we go abroad, but someimes it's nice just to hop on a coach and not worry about anything. We just love getting out & about and seeing new things. The Loro Park is at the top of the list as it's not far from the hotel. Will definately venture over to the tour kiosks when we get there and try to get to as many places as we can that you all have suggested (and ganesh sorry to hear it was rainy for you, I hope you still had a good time though?) and I never knew about the monkey park or that you could go whale watching over there, so thats one to investigate too. Many Thanks once again guys!
If you do decide to go to the monkey park, here's a tip that we found out - take plenty of bread to feed the monkeys.
When you go in, you can buy bags of food for about 2 Euros I think. These bags contain an assortment of nuts, seeds and bits of bread. The monkeys, especailly the larger ones, seemed to love the bread and couldn't get enough of it. Some of them threw the nuts and seeds on the floor and kept putting their hands out wanting the bread ...... the greedy lil' sods lol :)
