Dash warning light indicating open door, boot or bonnet is on permanently when car is being used even though everything is closed. It's a 2001 Fiesta and it had been unused for a few months which flattened the battery -- car is running fine other than this problem -- any ideas what might be causing this light to stay on ?

Thanks in advance

sounds like a bad door switch.
Most likely a faulty door switch or a short circuit. Door switches are on the negative side of the electical circuit (most switches operate on the positive side of the circuit) so any fault or short circuit will result in the interior light (if it's set to go on automatically when a door is opened) and the warning light being illuminated.

are these switches in the door frames ? alarm has gone off this morning for no reason
some are in the frame and some are in the door itself near the latch ( on the inside ).
