Went to order my turkey crown and ham joint this week from my favourite butchers only to discover that what cost less than £50 last year was going to cost nearer £100 this year. Any supermarket recommendations for turkey crowns (fresh or frozen) to feed 8 - 10 and ham joints to feed 12? I have all the brochures and prices don't vary that much but I am not spending £100. The turkey doesn't have to be fab but the ham has to be wonderful (I want an uncooked, off the bone type - don't know the actual name for it). Thank you.

I'm still deciding. OH gets Tesco vouchers as a xmas bonus so our shopping doesn't cost us anything extra.
Half price pork joints at Tesco at the moment.
Good to know Tony, I see Lamb as a luxury given the high price noe - it was never seen as a pricey meat once.

Yes Mamya your right about the price of lamb these days bloody expensive.
I bought one of those half price ( loin ) pork joints on Sunday, bought it home and Mrs av cut it into three decent sized joints and put them in the freezer. I should add that there were also leg and shoulder joints.
