I recently took out a free months trial and got Nexflix up and running but it is only coming thru onto my P.C.
My friend also got Netflix and he can play it directly thru his (non-smart)TV
Does anybody know how to get Netflix playing directly thru a non-smart TV ?

It works thru a wii and a virginmedia TiVo box.... Other than that I do not know, unless he has connected his PC/tablet to his tv?

There must be some sort of 'smart' device involved, such as any of these:

Gaming consoles run Netflix. Has he got any of those?
Has he got a smart dongle plugged into this TV?
Is his PC linked to his TV?

We can get it through the Wii. Your friend must have some device connected to his tv that is streaming the internet.
