Phone Call?

I've just had a phone call with a txt message asking me to txt the caller my mobile number.

I did 141 and its an 0845 number.....I haven't replied but has anyone else had this..is it a scam of some sort does anyone know?

It's a scam, else why did the caller not include who they were in the text message?

Put the full 0845 number into Google . . . it may tell you if it's a scam

Sometimes my daughter sends a text to our landline I'm sure it comes up as am 0845 number, you just have to follow the instructions, the message will say that it is a text message from BT (pretty certain it ends with a lot of 1's)

I looked on Google. Some say its safe its a BT number but it was asking for my mobile number? Its been used since at least 2007 according to what I read.

Anyone who has my number are friends. No one will get it from me other than who I choose.

Yes Nungate it does end in a lot of 1's but I have recieved txt messages but the house phone will give me the persons number who sent the txt message.

Problem solved. A friend rang this morning asking if I got his text on my landline.

opps that went before I finished. The 0845 number is BT because I hadn't saved the actual message doing 1471 gave the BT number.
