Sorry to bother you yet again. Bit of advice, my Mum was admitted to hospital last Monday the Docs have confirmed today that she has Bacterial MenIngitis. I've been visiting and feeding her etc. Would it be worth ringing my GP as precaution?

Hi Minty. Got back Sunday night and got the call from the care home At 3am Monday morning to say she was in hospital. Just what I needed after a week of illness in Edinburgh :o) Hope you are back to full speed. Xxx
Sorry to hear that, mazie. I would speak to GP, too.

Thanks pixie xx
Hi mazie.....no, don't bother to contact your GP, bacterial meningitis is not contagious, unless you start kissing your mother or she sneezes on you and then, it would rarely bother you if you were fit.

Thanks Sqad. The Docs told me it was a Notifiable disease and someone would be in touch . Just wanted the jump on it. X
mazie....just seen you on Dave's chest X-Ray thread and i had forgotten that you have bronchiectasis. Although the chance of cross infection from your mother is minimal, I might just give your doctor a ring in the morning as he might, just might prefer yopu to go on prophylactic antibiotics.
