22 weeks pregnant and I have crippling pain in my inner thighs, pelvis and uncomfortable down below, why is this happening to me??. When I told my boss I was pregnant he said I can sit and work if I want to. I said I would when I feel the need. .and now everytime I ask to stay in dept theres an issue. I cried at work yesterday all due to exhaustion. I cannot physically manage walking around wards all morning, its painful after an hour or so. I keep crying at the smallest thing because I am so tired. I dont go on mat leave till mid dec.

INSIST your doctor signs you off.
Canary....yes you can INSIST, but it is the examining doctor who decides.............not you.

Do you think the GP will sign me off>?

Well, im seeing the GP tomorrow, and supposed to be at work aswell. I will phone in sick, as the pain is still there, and I am feeling pretty low with the whole pregnancy now. I have no energy at all. I don't think the doctor will sign me off this week, he normally tells people to sign themselves off for 5 days and he will sign them off if they need anymore than that. I hope he is sympathetic, its just a matter of seeing him in the right mood.
Good luck at the docs tomorrow then, phleb.
I hope you get it sorted phleb. x
Good luck. Let us know how you're doing x

Hi guys. The doctor has told me to stay off work this week and then he will sign me off on friday for further few weeks depending on how I feel with the pain. He also told me to stick to the paracetamol to ease the pain. He said its normal for some women to get this and it can get worse. I rang work and told them I wont be in this week, supervisor's words were "oh let us know at the weekend if you'll be in next week"didnt bother to ask if im ok. My doctor is annoyed with how work are treating me.
Phleb...sorry to say but it probably will get worse the bigger the baby gets.
Glad you've got a helpful doctor at least. Work will have to wait, you can't help it, it's not your fault. It's more important to look after yourself at the moment.
I am quite surprised how many people seem to have had the same (reading the first page). Maybe more common than i thought.
I only had it with my 3rd....horrible horrible.
My daughter had this, had to wear a body brace and use crutches. Mind you she was carrying twins and they were both over 7lb!
Glad you can be signed off, phleb - if you hadn't, my immediate suggestion would be to refer yourself to your Trust's occy health department (you are entitled to self-refer, it doesn't have to be your manager doing it). It's not in the Trust's interest to have someone making themselves more unwell by remaining at work if they are not fit. You are not up to it at the moment - stay off work. Make sure you get that GP sick note before the seven days' self certification are up!

Gp has given me a sick note for two weeks. He also thinks I need to rest. Although he put lower back pain on the reason for sickness. Im suffering more than just back pain and I told him. He says its fine to just put the main reason.
Brilliant news, phleb - having a GP note will at least satisfy your work.
Sounds like Baby Sham has some very good advice for you here.
