Early this morning, I sent an email. It included some entries from facebook, but whether this is relevant or I simply pressed the wrong button(s) on my keyboard, the entire text was filled with dots between the words and what looked like giant lower case q's. Now every email I write gets affected like this. How do I get rid of it?

If you are using Outlook press the following at the same time CTRL Shift and 8 (That is the 8 above the U and I on the Keyboard not the number pad)

Try re-booting

Well I don't know about you, PrinceRupe, but I think I've learnt something new today.

...though I'm sure re-booting would have fixed it as well.................maybe.

re-booting did not work, but stoofur's instructions did. Fantastic. This alone makes being on AB worthwhile. Thank you both though.
basically you've just made the formatting visible the large q's indicate a carriage return and the dots represent spaces. Stoofur's fix makes the formatting invisible again. Nothing to do with FB
You are welcome
