Hi everyone,

I desperately require someones help

I have a Acer T120E and it has been fine for the last 2 years. I have done a windows update the other day and when I try to boot my computer it automatically switches off now since the update has been installed.

The message I have managed to capture is (fatal System Error) c000021a {Fatal System Error} The Session Manager Initialization system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc000026c (0x00000000 0x00000000

I can't get into safe mode or anything like that,I don't have the original recovery discs as I have lost one of them

Any suggestions and what to do please, I have purchased this here http://www.user-guides.co.uk/asp/product.asp?p roduct=1222,

is it the same as my original restore discs

Thanks for your help

I've seen this problem mentioned on the net off and on over the last month or so...seems to be a hotfix problem.

See if this helps...two thirds down the page...it's old but seems to be relevant.

Sorry newdriver i just re read your post...looks like you will have to reformat if you can't get in to safe mode...but you can't do that because you're missing one of the restore discs :(

The disc you have purchased doesn't have any Windows files on it so no it isn't.

Can you not borrow a friends disc or download a student copy of XP to get the laptop up and running...you can use the student disc to repair your original installation.
