Most viruses are aimed at WIndows, defnatly
But that does NOT mean you need not take precautions..Get a good Firewall and Anti-Virus, lots of good software is free on the net.
There are less Apple computers in the world than Windows PCs, so therefore there are less viruses.
It's written on a much more secure platform (Unix) which makes it much more secure for that reason. Because of the way unix works it's difficult to write viruses in the same way as you can on PC's and therefore there are few if any Mac viruses.
At the last count there have been 150,000 viruses written that attack the Microsoft Operating System. To date there has never been a real virus on the Apple OS. People have tried but failed. The Apple OS was completely rewritten in 2001 and is currently called OSX (ten). It comes with a built in Firewall. All istallation of applications are password protected which means it would be difficult for any rogue application to install itself. I do however scan for viruses just incase, but no, in fifteen years, I have never had one.
