Hi.

I will be traveling to Poland to pick up a car that I have bought, has anyone got any experience of this, i.e. costs for fuel, rules of traveling etc.
Any advice would be useful.

I'll ask OH about this, he's driven that way in the past. I know you must have a breatherlyser kit pack plus warning triangles and hiviz jackets if you are driving through France on the way back.
Why don't you get the car shipped? you could get the car driven to the dock in that area of Poland then pick up the car in a UK Port, Felixstowe or whatever dock. that way would save you the fuel , time, accommodation, Insurance cover, wear and tear.
