I have been contributing to AB for roughly ten years, using this ID and a previous (had good reason to change ID, nothing malicious) and natch, I am a huge fan. I have promoted it in techie magazines, social networking and on websites in a very understated way as I'm sure many of us have.

I can't remember how I found this site. I am sure I used Google for information and AB provided the answer but I am amazed so many people do find it as I have never seen AB advertised anywhere, not even as a 'website of the week'.

How did you find AB? Did you stumble upon it as I did, was it recommended or did you see it mentioned in a computer mag or similar?

>>>It is nice to be able to teach the old folk a thing or three

But, just like teenagers, we oldies think that we know it all anyway, Arksided ;-)
Indeed :-)
I think it was through a search engine, but I can't remember what I was that I was searching for but obviously one of the responses was an AB item. Having found the site, it went into my bookmarks right away, and the rest is history.
I've been on here 6 years on the 21st October. My daughter joined me up when I needed help with crosswords. Took me a little while to venture into chatterbank. I thought you were a funny lot, lol!
legal problem for me.....still not sorted but was quoted Bleak house !
I was searching on google for something to do with an advert. Never seen such an online forum before and in my innocence joined within half an hour to ask my question. I registered with the name of my current cat (prudence kitten) having no idea that in years to come I could therefore be called a prude or when I first joined being accused of being the reincarnation of an infamous member called prudentia. What used to go on in CB back then was generally very unpleasant.
Looking for crossword help...been here nearly three years now...have made lots of nice cyber friends !
Crossword answers seem to be the reason most people found this excellent site, I'm no exception.

Thank you AB, and all AB'ers, for the enlightenment, answers and topics for discussion you have given me.
It was my Birthday and I decided to take a day off from all the Christmas cooking and entertaining to spend the day doing crosswords. I was stuck on a particular clue and Google sent me here. That was nearly 8 years ago. Very glad it did as I have "met" some amazing people, and some nutters ;o)
A site I was on regular became more interested in ads that it's members view's, then I searched and found this site.
Looking for help with a crossword, if I recall.
I've been a member for over 7 years, and like so many, I was hunting crossword answers and stumbled into AB

Living on the other side of the world, the chances of meeting other members would seem unlikely, however similar interests allowed me to meet the wife of one ..... Small world !!
Was feeling a bit bored and down, and my sister who happened to visit me one particlar w/end introduced me to ab , and I sat there in stitches reading lots of Chatterbank posts.
Uncle Google led me here.

I had been visiting the site for a while and happened to mention it to my brother. He had also found the site - he lived abroad, in England, whilst I am in Scotland. Given the size of the webby thing it was strange to find him here - lurking and posting.

There are many very helpful people here - it is like the local pub.
I stumbled on it. I have used another persona - as well nothing malicious.
Googling for answes to a quiz I was doing and ended up here, twice, so decided to sign up. Very glad I did as I have found it quite enlightening.
