An elderly man almost looked dead in the car and myself and a friend called an ambulance and the 999 operator told us to break the window in case CPR was needed.
The man was breathing but it was concluded he was in a deep sleep.
The insurance company has now sent me the bill for the window.
Am I obliged to pay it..

Hi FF (waves) in a surreal wave of er surrealism, I suddenly realised how ya did it. That is detected duff threads. But I thought you were doing the 'a magician neva gives his secrets away' thing.

I get a bit of a block when someone says 'X' and the appropriate response is I dont believe you. I thought the give-away was 'but it was concluded he was in a deep sleep' .

The thread is not so much surreal as remarkable as showing how few people go and help strangers - Dismo, Me and myself are the guilty few
and how many say - are you sure you're meant to be doing that ?

Freddy - Hi Freddy - Tony Weir made it up to Cambridge where I got a years tort lectures from him. Quit a remarkable experience. What about - does Widow X live here ? No, well she does now.... is that Perry v Deek ?

Dizmo I think you were unlucky. The difficult with breaking in - is that once the thing is sorted one/you are left with an unsecured house....If I was questioned on breaking into my dead g-m's house in order to steal from it, I can see that my answers would be forthright.

Oddly enough, it is worse if the door is unlocked and you can walk in.....
then the relatives imply the neighbours ( who might have been calling in, to make sure, do a cup of tea etc) have walked in and taken the good bits. I can confirm this outrages helpful neighbours who are keen to ask how many times the relatives have visited in the last four weeks.

A damaging time for us all

Jane Grey has done us all a favour hasnt she ?

PP Derry v Peek held that innocent misrepresentation in a company's prospectus was not actionable by shareholders. Checking, I see that it followed Heaven suing a Mr Pender, which must have raised an interesting point of theology. Could Pender be sued for lying when he tried to get past St Peter ?
i know this is fake but it raises an interesting question for both sides

because if i was the man, and had just decided to have a nap - id be pretty angry if someone smashed my window too - but then, i'd also understand they were trying to help and could have saved my life if i'd needed it ...
but still, that lumbers me with possibly a huge bill ... which doesn't seem very fair - since i am entitled to have a nap in my car if i want.

also if i smashed someones window because i thought they were ill, i'd feel bad that i'd damaged their stuff, but i'd also feel like i was only trying to help.

tough one, because does that mean you are entitled to damage another persons property by jumping to the wrong conclusions - just because you had a kind motive...?

interesting.
Interesting question and VERY interesting points of views.

If such a case should go in front of a judge, I'd like to know their decision.

New Judge, I hope you see this one. I want to know your opinion :)
