Better start digging deep Mr Dopestrong, there's gonna be a lot of people clamouring to have their money returned from your ill gotten gains.

He is a disgrace.

There is loads of doping in sport but to have the front to sue someone is beyond belief.
lose money and all the titles, thats a start, perhaps others may then take note and act accordingly.
I have nothing but contempt for this man. Once it was obvious that he was proven to be a liar and a cheat, he should have crawled away under a stone somewhere, never to be seen again. He could learn a lot from John Profumo.
No there isn't.
Armstrong won a libel action and took money from the Times. We now know that the judgement was wrong. Armstrong would only need to return money to other people who similarly lost libel actions and had to pay him money. I am not aware of any similar cases. This is quite unique, which is why he has settled.

It also means he avoids going to court where question about perjury at the original trial might have come out. Perjury is punishable by a prison sentence.

The difference is that he is fighting the other actions and a court will decide the outcome. He has repaid the Times to avoid questions about perjury. That may still come back to haunt him.

We will have to wait to see how the courts decide on the cases you highlight above. I am not sure they are as straight forward as the Times grievance.

Ah, nice backtrack, I see what you did there.

I didn't comment on the finer details of his case with the Times and all its little intricacies, I just pointed out that there will be company's and individuals alike who will be looking to have their funding/payments/bonuses and purchases refunded, that's all.
I have no problem in punishing Armstrong for being a cheat. I just doubt that the Times' case, where he is effectively paying back money that was wrongfully awarded to him in a court of law, is any indication that the other cases will be so simple.

I didn't think I had back tracked or did anything clever. I did know that sponsors wanted their money back and there was talk that he should give back his prize money. I just doubt that raking back that money will be as simple and that the Times case is any indication that he will give up his money as easily.

I hope all the actions against him are proven but I doubt they will be. And if they are, he will put up a more vigorous defence than he did against the Times.

My High School headteacher held him up as an inspiration. He has lot a lot of children down
Do you mean 'let a let' jim.
No I think it was "lot a let"...
"There is loads of doping in sport"

Unfortunately there is doping in sport but I don't think it amounts to 'loads'.
It would be interesting to see a scientific study into what each guilty athlete has gained from doping. I would imagine for a lot of them it will be little or nothing - certainly not worth the ban and loss of earnings that follow.
