Heard today that Tesco were fined £300.000 for false advertising. While I'm glad they did I can't help wondering where or who got that £300.000?
All the money thats paid to the courts who's bank does that go into?
It never seems to be talked about.

I was shocked to hear too £14 Million was put into the governments coffers each YEAR from people who do not make a will & who's relatives can't be traced. Disgusting it should go straight to the NHS.

Early crops are always dearer. I thought it a good offer with cream, great feast

The law can be a joke at times...
as it was explained on Midlands Today last night, early strawberries are expensive, but the price natutally falls away as the supply increases. Thus £3.99 one week easily becomes £1.99 shortly after. So the drop in price seen at Tesco at that time was the nnatural operation of market price, and not Tesco selling their wares at "half price". QED the advertising was misleading.
semantics?
It does go to the NHS , it goes to the treasury who fund the NHS.
If fines went direct to the NHS all that would happen is the treasury would reduce NHS funding by the same amount as the fine income.
I said that, Eddie. You just said it better.
