Hi Tony,
Would you mind answering a question please?
How long would it take (roughly) to replace 4 discs and pads on a Nissan Almeira please?
Is it fairly labour intensive or not too difficult?

Should be pretty straight forward Chill, is this a DIY job or garage job ?.

Was toying with the idea of doing it myself but there is a local garage recently set up by a couple of Polish lads who have a good reputation and like dealing in cash, if you know what I mean.
As it involves brakes I wouldn't want to take the risk. I've actually got the full set of eBay for just over £90, just need someone to fit the set.

Thanks for the info mate.

Off eBay rather....
Not a bad price that, Chill.
As it involves removing and refitting the brake calipers, you need to know what our doing. I'd say it would take a mechanic about 5 hrs to do the lot. Tony, do you agree?

That's what I reckoned, given that I was quoted £160 just to replace just the back set so I guessed I'd be looking to pay these lads £80-100 to fit all 4, something like that?
If you're at all unsure, I'd get the garage to do it.
Question Author
That's what I reasoned Zacs, don't wanna be doing 70 on the local bypass and suffer a brake malfunction!
Nope. I was overtaking a car and a van today doing 35 in a 60 zone when the van decided to pull out just as I was along side him. Not a nice experience.
Should take less time than that Zac, the brake calipers don't have to be disconnected as such, just unbolted from the carriers and hung out of the way while the brake disc is changed.
Question Author
Would £80-100 sound about right Tony? Just wondered what the going rate for cash might be.
Ah right. Still....
Sounds about right for pound notes, Chill.
Question Author
Thanks Tony. Cheers also, Zacs.
