Why has the original actress who played Hayley for so many years suddenly left and been replaced? (by a brunette!)

My wife says the blonde Hayley has left to have a baby 'in real life', so they used a lookalike!!!!
yeh that's right but rebecca Cartwright has had Lleyton Hewitt's baby and is now married to him but she wasn't going back. It's ridiculous because they went to all the trouble of having Hayley pregnant at the same time that rebecca was they should just have written her out then because the brunette girl was only on the show a short time and has left it now in australia
It's very confusing seeing Kim talking to "Hayley" now, and the real one was soo pretty. Couldn't they have chosen someone better.

Or at least someone with blond hair!
I had a look at Home and Away this evening, after seeing this post(hadn't seen it for a while),and the whole thing just looks stupid! I couldn't be bothered hanging around to watch it at all.As you say sammd,I would have thought she'd at least been blonde!

I think Australian soaps are the worst for this kind of thing ~ Home & Away have done it before with Pippa, Rebecca & more recently with Flynn. it is really annoying, especially considering you are just supposed to KNOW the change has happened.

I recall at the beginning of some episodes they had 'the part of (fill the blanks) is played by (fill the blanks) in this episode' due to the actor being ill or busy doing something else, only for the original to come back..I mean, jeeez.

On 'neighbours' the part of Scott was changed from one day to the next in the UK. Apparently they had just had a 10 week break in Australia which was enough for the audience to forget the original Scott (rolls eyes). Not so for us! luckily I don't watch soaps too much nowadays, & if I do I certainly don't take them too seriously.
