Hi excel, could be summer pudding though.
Question Author
excel, you would be wasting your time coming here for a blackcurrant pie. I don't do pies.

How are you getting on in that terrible heat?

oh, i just grin and bare it

(or should that be bear it)

no .. right first time - - - - can't beat a spot of naked sunbathing
Question Author
tut!

The sun's got to you!
Freeze them and then when you want to use them put them in a sieve and give a good shake, tops and tails fall off!
I spread them out on a tray to allow insects to depart, then I freeze them , still on the tray. they then go into an empty ice cream carton and back in the freezer. When you want to use them, take out the carton, shake it vigorously;(think of a politician you hate). After that you'll find that most of the tops and tails can be washed off. I make blackcurrant crumbles. I don't rub fat into flour, takes too long. Whizz up brown bread crusts with some gingernut biscuits, spread on top and drizzle on melted butter and brown sugar. Easy and delicious
